AFTrack is a comprehensive marine navigation application tailored for sailors, featuring advanced tracking capabilities and numerous logging functions. It supports multiple input modes, including online and offline maps, wind routing, AIS integration, and more. The current version establishes a direct connection to the SailTimer API™, eliminating the need for additional plugins.

Upon initial launch, the app is provided without maps; only online maps are active by default. Users can download chart data via the designated chart and download buttons for offline use.

• GPS and Other Input:
  • Supports diverse GPS sources: internal GPS, internal GPS with NMEA, Bluetooth GPS, USB GPS, online GPS over WiFi/4G, and NMEA files.
  • Reads NMEA sentences, GpsD JSON, Signal K JSON formats.
  • Functions as a GPS daemon (NMEA or JSON on port 2947).
  • Supports combined GPS modes utilizing external NMEA data and internal GPS.
  • Allows position sharing, replacing standard GPS provider.
  • Provides connectivity with AIS servers using NMEA format over TCP or UDP.
  • Includes altitude correction (automatic or manual), Kalman filtering, and pressure-based altitude adjustments.
  • Offers configurable pressure start altitude and weather-based automatic correction (requires internet).

  • Supports sending exports directly via Bluetooth using a kml.txt format.
  • Facilitates route and area design on the map, including offline routing with BRouter (inland waterways), wind considerations, and polar data.
  • Edit existing routes or areas; merge multiple routes; copy waypoints into routes.
  • Add new waypoints based on bearings or map positions; incorporate predefined waypoint collections into the map.

  • Mainly offline map options include OpenSeaMap downloader; Mapsforge vector format with XML overlays; BSB3 format for marine navigation; NV digital marine charts; Navionics charts; OSZ format created with MobileAtlasCreator; SQLite formats such as mbtiles and sqlitedb also from MobileAtlasCreator and Maperitive; mph/mpr formats.
  • User-generated maps can be created from JPG, PNG, BMP files with calibration support using GMI, KML, KAL, CAL, PWM, TFW, or JPR formats.
  • Smooth seamless display when using OSZ or SQLite tile sets; quick map selection with folder scan capability.
  • Overlay options include online pool overlays and offline mbtiles overlays.
  • Map zoom scaling options of 2x/4x for detail adjustments.
• View:
  • Map or position-center wind indicators for quick situational awareness.
  • Displays depth information where available.
  • Presents AIS data for nearby vessels and ADS-B info for aircraft arrivals/departures if accessible.
  • Includes variometer display with optional sound alerts.
  • Alarm features for specific POIs and anchor positions.
  • Saves and restores user settings efficiently.
  • Enables sending waypoints or anchor alarms to Android Wear devices for convenience.
